january 2026.

January has welcomed us fully into summer here in Kenya. With daily temperatures hovering around 28°C, the days have been sunny, warm, and incredibly beautiful. This is my favourite season in Kenya, and it has been great to settle back into work routines with such lovely weather after a snowy Christmas. 🙂

Being back with my students has been such a joy. I am continually proud of their hard work and perseverance, and this month we placed a strong focus on developing life skills. These moments, often quiet and unseen, are where I feel the deepest sense of purpose. I continue to thank God for placing me in my dream role in ministry. His faithfulness and plans in never cease to amaze me. It is very cool looking back throughout my life seeing how God was orchestrating everything to bring me here, now.

This month also brought Sports Day, which was a highlight for our school community. Students were mixed across grades, cheering one another on, encouraging each other to try new things, and celebrating effort over outcome. Families came out to support, creating such a strong sense of community. It was a very hot day, but despite the heat, the students had an incredible time, full of laughter, determination, and joy. I loved seeing students include one another throughout the day. It truly was a team Sports Day!

In more personal news, Noah and I have set a wedding date, and I wanted to share that joy with you here! We are in full wedding planning mode, so we would love for you to keep us in your prayers as we prepare for our upcoming marriage.

Thank you, as always, for walking alongside me through prayer, encouragement, and support. It means more than I can fully express.

With gratitude,
-j.

  1. Hi Jocelyn. It’s always a highlight to read your updates, and to see how God is working through you and in you! Thanks for keeping us all in the loop. I don’t think we congratulated you on your upcoming marriage when we saw you last.

Congratulations to you both! If only we could always listen for God’s voice telling us that His plans for us are better than we can possibly imagine, especially when we are going through tough times. This is His promise to you coming to life ❤️

Incidentally, you are getting married on my parents’ and my sister’s anniversaries, July 18! Great choice!

Thanks for sharing your photos and your news. Take care, and enjoy the wedding planning!

    Love from Wanda and Ron
